These are the Team Akatsuki from the Naruto (Verse) series.
Summary[]
The Akatsuki was once a team formerly led by Yahiko, along with Konan and Nagato, as they lead a mercenary group of followers who wish to bring about peace. Over the course of their existence, they have changed considerably with members being from the Rain Village to members of outcasts from other villages, becoming a secret organization to bring about an alternative objective to their own, and became a threat that rivaled that of the 5 great nations.

The team was assembled for the purpose to bring about world peace, however, the means to accomplish this changed over the course of time, with first as a mercenary group, to utilizing giant monsters' powers. With the latter making the members believe that they're ideas are aligned with each other.

DC: Small Country-Country: Obito With the use of the Juubi as it's Jinchuuriki which cased mass devastation across large landmasses. Island-Mountain+: Nagato as Pain is able to destroy an entire village at full power Almighty Push, and with Planetary Devastation Jutsu can destroy large amount of land into a massive spherical object. Moutain: Itachi and Kisame at their best can match the strength of Jinchuriki who's Bijuu Bomb can destroy a mountain. Town-City: Other Akatsuki members which can match the strength of high level Shinobi.
Durability: Small Country-Country: Obito as the Jinchuuriki for the Juubi. Island-Mountain+: Nagato is comparable to Naruto after learning Sage Mode. Mountain: Itachi and Kisame comparable to powerful enemies like post-timeskip Sasuke or Jinchuurikis like Killer Bee. Town: The durability of other Akatsuki members comparable to high level Shinobi.
Speed: Massively Hypersonic+: The reaction and combat speed of most Akatsuki members who can keep up with the likes of Kakashi who can cut a lightning bolt (Likely higher with Itachi, Nagato and Obito after becoming Juubi Jinchuuriki). Massively Hypersonic+: The movement speed of Akatsuki members.

Their strength comes from being divided into teams of two, each of which are compatible with either their techniques or personalities.
Their skills are diverse and have many roles that they can fulfill in times that would most require them, attack, defense, support, tanking, etc..

They can be overwhelmed by greater number of strong people, can be caught off guard from arrogance or be exploited with information about them.
